One of our most memorable characters to cast this year has been “Henry” for the Mutual Fund Store. Henryhenryhenry. Henry’s a bit of a grouch. He just doesn’t give a flip anymore. And why should he? He’s retiring. In other spots in this campaign we’ve heard Henry talk sports, give a wedding speech, and wax[…]
The featured image for this post is how our favorite online collage generator imagines one of the couples featured in the Capitol Federal Fall Lending Radio campaign we produced this week. Not bad work there, Net.Art Generator. Maybe you robots are OK after all. More importantly, hats off to the humans that put this together.[…]
Check out these two new :60 spots for Luba Worker’s Comp. we produced last month. These spots feature loads of under-the-big-top sound design and several fun, situational cameos by colorful circus characters. Interestingly enough, one of the toughest elements to create in this production was the sound of the “Wheel of a Thousand Knives.” We ended[…]
INTRUST Mobile Deposit from Burly Studios on Vimeo. This Intrust Mobile Banking spot was a snap. Besides the camera sounds we also added various SFX to help mark each scene – “Bacon Frying in Pan” for the kitchen, “mono sfx 03” for the Newton’s Cradle in the office, “Sorrento, Italy: Cafe Ambience: Medium Crowd, Heavy[…]
Sound design? Yes. We do sound design. And sometime we get to lay down fun, whimsical sound design, like the BOOM and the disco ball’s servo motor and the typewriter’s clackety clack and the various other what-nots that we added to these Arkansas Department of Higher Education videos for their recent Come Back 2 Go[…]
Speaking of Martin, here’s a nice piece that we worked on for Red Deluxe and their client, Youth Villages. Along with the excellent visuals, that’s yours truly doing the non-announcer voice over, with some really nice licensed music and subtle sound design.
Good news from our friends at River Road Creative. It looks like the “Meth Sucks” tv they produced with us last year won four gold Addys at regionals this year! Way to go, River Road and yay us! For more on the “Meth Sucks” Anti-Meth campaign as well as the District 7 ADDY awards, follow[…]
So, last month, we went on location to help That Guy From Riverfest with a mobile recording. And yes, this involved much more than taping the lav mic to his chest, thank you very much. Live recordings are always exciting and this project was no exception. We were glad to hear that everything turned out[…]
This past month we did the sound design for this bumpin’ ASU promo that ran on ESPN2 during the ASU / ULM game on October 19. Scott did some really rad sfx work to create the ratcheting sounds that mark the Transformers-ish action early in this video. Without giving too much away I’ll just mention[…]
One of my favorite bits of the job is working with actors: finding a character, creating an emotional context, honing a performance. Occasionally we get to put that aside and simply work with un-narrated visuals, like this piece for Intake Studio. And you know what? That’s darn fun too.
