Sound design? Yes. We do sound design. And sometime we get to lay down fun, whimsical sound design, like the BOOM and the disco ball’s servo motor and the typewriter’s clackety clack and the various other what-nots that we added to these Arkansas Department of Higher Education videos for their recent Come Back 2 Go[…]
“How young are you? / How old am I?” Remember that song? How about “Lay It Down Clown?” Well, if either of these songs rings a bell, then quit reading this post. Why? Because it’s too late. Oh, you aging, left-of-the-dialist. Your day is up. I bet your ears are still ringing from that[…]
So, last month, we went on location to help That Guy From Riverfest with a mobile recording. And yes, this involved much more than taping the lav mic to his chest, thank you very much. Live recordings are always exciting and this project was no exception. We were glad to hear that everything turned out[…]
Here’s some recent work we produced for Blam and M.B. Piland promoting the Google… oops… I mean, Topeka Chamber of Commerce.
Congrats to Zehnder Communications for winning Best of Show Overall this year at the Baton Rouge ADDY awards. Huzzah! One part of this campaign was the following handsome video with music, announcer VO, and audio mix provided by your’s truly, Lucky Dog Audio Post. Which means it’s time, once again, to whip out the Soderberghicon.[…]
Yeah. We cast and recorded these elves. The biggest challenge was finding an elf with a Spanish accent. It’s hard enough to get elves in the booth this time of year but finding a Spanish elf who also had time for a VO session! Dang. That took a couple of calls. A Red Deluxe production,[…]
The assignment: write and record a school song/national anthem for a sports team that sounds like a huge men’s chorus. Demo it up in less than a week. We really had fun doing it. We listened to a lot of school songs. Sellout came up with the composition. Singers were hired. We had a concert[…]
One of my favorite bits of the job is working with actors: finding a character, creating an emotional context, honing a performance. Occasionally we get to put that aside and simply work with un-narrated visuals, like this piece for Intake Studio. And you know what? That’s darn fun too.
Here’s more news of Lucky Dog award winning work. Check out this ADDY award winning video we mixed for Zehnder Communications last year. LSUHSC Important Work from LSU Health Sciences Center on Vimeo. Plus Zehnder won ADDY’s for Edgen Murray (web animation) and Louisiana Public Health Institute’s smoking cessation campaign (radio). Both projects received the[…]
Looks like our buddies at Third Degree totally cleaned up this year at the Oklahoma City ADDYs with their Buck the Norm campaign!! Buck yeah! Buck the Norm won Best Interactive, Best Broadcast and Best In Show!!! Whoo hoo! We had a lot of fun working on this project. Besides finding a unique piece of[…]
Here’s some recent work for Third Degree featuring a voice over by yours truly. Yarg!
Photo: T. Bllard Leseman, 1983 My first band was called Modern Art. As you can see in the above flyer, we were very serious about being a band. First off, we had a look – berets. Yep. We all wore berets. You know, the kind of hats that Claude Monet used to wear. I guess[…]
Scott says, “Charles is a lucky dog, but he has a melancholy side. Some days he just gets fixated on some moment in the past, working it like an old chew toy. We usually get him some green tea and it subsides, but sometimes it’s not out of his system until it’s properly documented, recorded,[…]
So the ceremony for Oklahoma City ADDY awards opened this year with this amazing video put together by Third Degree Communications, Digital DK, Simon Hurst Photography, and us. We love the way this piece works. The flickering text and the geek/chic office photographs, the retro/industrial footage, the lighting and exposure effects. . . it’s all[…]
